Description:
Known for their dense, plush coat and broad face, British Shorthairs carry a charming and dignified presence. The "British Blue" is the most iconic colour.
Nature:
They are friendly, affectionate, and not overly demanding. British Shorthairs are patient and good with children and other pets.
Comparison:

Maine Coon: Maine Coons are more active and larger in size.

British Longhairs share the same traits as the British shorthair, with the exception of a long hair coat.

Exotics: Exotics may require more attention, while British Shorthairs are equally affectionat but more laid-back.

Our breeding cats are tested for FIV/FELV.
All cats tested negative.

All our cats and kittens are fully vaccinated.

General observation of a cat’s condition is important. We spend time every day with each cat.
All our cattery cats, regularly visit vets for health check and kitten vaccinations. Our cattery is inspected annually for Government licensing purposes.

We are licensed by the local authority to grow and we adhere to the required standards.
Standards
We are members of The International Cat Association® (TICA) and UK Cat Association (GCCF)
TICA is the world's largest genetic registry.
Housing
All of our cats live in insulated, heated facilities with significantly more space than our licensing authority requires. All cats have free access to outdoor play areas with plenty of climbing opportunities.
Socialization
All of our kittens are introduced to our family members from a young age. This includes our grumpy senior pets and our pack of Labradors.
Our customers often comment on the loyalty of their Vanilla Sky kittens.

A Family Run Cattery
Vanilla Sky Cattery is based in the UK and we run it from our home with all our other pets. It is a homely environment.

Our aim is to breed happy, healthy and socialised cats that enhance the lives of their owners.
To achieve this we have become a well-known cattery in the UK with many satisfied customers from Edinburgh to beautiful Wales and all points in between.

Our Values
The cattery is run and managed strictly according to our family values, the welfare of the cats comes first and we exceed the welfare standards required by our local authority licensing board.
We work with our veterinarians to obtain advice on animal welfare issues that may affect the health of the animals.
Doing our part for the planet
We use good quality, cat and nature friendly litter trays.
We also use disposable, recyclable plastic feeding trays.

About me
I have dual citizenship, Latvian and England. I moved to the peaceful, Doncaster in mid-2014. I am a mother of two adults and one teenager. I am a postgraduate graduate with a Bachelor of Education, Psychology from the University of Latvia. I love God very much. Jesus is my greatest teacher in all my activities.
